Description

Some time ago I've posted a picture with the comment Astrobin (http://www.astrobin.com/57641/) that was suspected that the alignment of craters near Muller could be a Catena.

Seeing this new photo taken a few days ago when the two are present (Muller and Davy) this feeling becomes even stronger.

Yet I reserve the right to doubt mainly due to the diameter of the craters that seem to form Muller, are too big so that we can imagine a stone block of this size or even hitting a succession of blocks after the initial object has been fragmented.

Catena, catenae (Chain of Craters) -

Name adopted by U.A.I. to designate a chain of craters on the surface of the moon or a planet. They are the result of the rebound and ejects the material from the impact that formed the main crater. The cadeida crater Davy is one of the most spectacular crater chains on the Moon, extends for about 50 km

distance from the edge of the old crater Davy Y

Other chains of craters are: Catena Abulfeda; Catena Humboldt; Catena Krafft; Catena Littrow; Catena Sylvester; Catena Taruntius; Catena Timocharis.

For those who want to delve a little-more on this subject suggest interesting read about Catena Davy.
